The Big Butt Phenomenon!

Big Butt 2

The latest celebrity look to take the world by storm is the retro, Hollywood glamour hourglass figure featuring a ‘big butt’, waspish waist and killer hips. Kim Kardashian and Beyoncé are leading the celebrity charge that’s thankfully sweeping aside the unhealthy, anorexic-looking ‘size zero’ fad of a few years ago. If you’d like to become as curvy and ‘bootylicious’ as your idols, here are a few options you might want to consider.

Exercise

Exercise is the safest and cheapest way to a larger, more pert butt. The good news is that you don’t need to spend hours in the gym either; the exercises can be done at home. Here are two simple workouts to get you started.

Squats

Squats are extremely effective because they make you use all your butt muscles.

  1. Begin by standing upright with your back straight and your feet hip-width apart.
  2. Slowly bend your knees and squat down as far as you can. Keep your knees above your ankles and your back upright. Shift your weight back onto your heels so that you don’t overbalance forward.
  3. Hold the position for a few seconds. Slowly stand up, squeezing your butt tight as you do so.

Kickbacks

  1. Begin on your hands and knees. Hold your back flat and tighten-up your stomach muscles.
  2. Bend one leg to 900 and raise it slightly off the floor.
  3. Stretch your leg up until your thigh becomes parallel to the ground, squeezing your butt as you do so.
  4. Lower your leg back down and repeat with the other leg.

Pills, supplements and creams

In addition to your new exercise regime, you could boost your booty-building endeavours by taking pills and supplements, and using special creams. Most of these different potions contain phytoestrogens and hormone balancing herbal supplements. Oestrogen is the female hormone that is directly associated with increasing female curves in all the right places. The pills certainly do work and you can expect an increase in your bust size too, as an added bonus.

However, some women have used ‘chicken feed’ pills in their quest to grow a bigger behind more quickly (and cheaply). These pills contain steroids and other growth hormones and are designed to make commercially-reared chickens become fatter more quickly. Unfortunately, the pills also contain arsenic and other nasties that you really don’t want to swallow. Always stick to supplements designed for human consumption only – and always read the ingredients carefully!

There are many butt-boosting creams to choose from. Those that work best contain natural chemical substances that stimulate the production of fat cells, and increase their size. Popular brands to look out for include Gluteboost and Isosensuals.

Surgical procedures

If you want to take a short cut to a bigger butt, you could opt for a surgical solution. There are several popular procedures to choose from if you have sufficient funds, although the overall consensus of opinion is that a naturally sculpted behind looks far more attractive than a quick-fix cosmetic one.

Brazilian butt lift

This popular cosmetic butt enhancement procedure is designed to give sagging, small or unevenly shaped buttocks a more youthful, rounder and perkier look. The procedure entails the implanting of the patient’s own fat into their buttocks. The fat is harvested by liposuction from other areas of the body. It’s then processed under lab conditions before being implanted into your buttocks in tiny amounts via very fine needles to give an even distribution.

General anaesthesia isn’t usually necessary, and you’ll undergo the procedure whilst sedated. Recovery time is usually up to four weeks. This includes one week’s bed rest and three weeks when you’re advised not to sit down while the fat tissue settles. The effects are described as ‘long-lasting’, although this varies from patient to patient. This butt boosting surgery can cost you around $13,000, depending on the clinic you use.

There is also a silicone injection alternative to using your own body fat, but there are plenty of horror stories surrounding this option and complications are frequent and unpleasant, so it’s not recommended here.

Buttock implants

Another cosmetic option is the buttock implant. This procedure involves implanting a silicone implant within the buttock in conjunction with liposuction to further sculpt the final look. You will usually have this procedure carried out under general anaesthetic and recovery time can take up to three months. During the recovery period you will have to wear a support garment as your buttocks will be very swollen, and you won’t get to see the final end result until everything has settled down.

As the procedure is quite invasive, there is the risk of infection following surgery and you may be left with visible scarring, depending upon the chosen site for the implant. The implants should remain in situ permanently without moving and if you decide you’ve had enough of your big booty, you can have them removed. You should expect to pay around $12,000 for buttock implants.

Horror stories

Unfortunately, there are many horror stories surrounding butt enhancement surgery. Take the woman from LA who paid for silicone injections to enhance her butt and finished up not only suffering a quadruple amputation, but almost losing her life; the ‘doctor’ who carried out her procedure had actually used bathroom sealant which caused a deadly infection!

If you do opt for a surgical solution, always check your surgeon’s references before you commit, and make sure they’re registered with the American Society For Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

Butt enhancing clothing

Perhaps the safest way of achieving a perfectly poised posterior is to enhance what nature gave you with cleverly designed booty-boosting underwear. ‘Booty bras’ provide lift and support for your butt and come in shorts, girdle or panty form. Special butt lifting and shaping undies help to provide support and definition for your derriere, and ‘sticky buns’ booty pads come in self-adhesive versions or as inserts for specially-designed bottom enhancing panties.

Complete your ‘coke-bottle’ figure with a corset to cinch in your waist, and hip-padded undies.  A cautionary word about corsets; never wear a corset that is uncomfortable or feels too tight.  Over-tightened corsetry can result in crushing and bruising to the internal organs, and in extreme cases can cause circulatory issues, fainting, and even heart failure!

In conclusion

There are many ways to achieve the current on-trend hourglass figure. However, given that it’s likely to be a passing fad, it might be safer to opt for a temporary means of obtaining it for yourself. If you’ve undergone butt enhancing surgery or tried out pills and potions to perk up your posterior, why not share your experiences with other cougars in the comments section below. We’d love to hear from you!
